Fascial Stretch Therapy is a form of assisted stretching developed by Anne and Chris Fredricks of the Stretch to Win Institute in Tempe, Arizona. Originally devised as a means of improving the performance of the US Olympic Wrestling Team, and now in keen demand by many top athletes and NFL teams, Anne and Chris discovered that their stretching techniques could also offer profound therapeutic effects for non-athletes, not only for musculo-skeletal problems but also for seemingly unrelated illnesses and conditions.
I trained with Anne and Chris in the summer of 2012 and am a level-1 certified Fascial Stretch Therapist. A detailed article giving one person’s experience of FST can be found here. I often incorporate these stretching techniques into treatments, and also offer stand-alone FST sessions. If you would like to know more about how FST can improve your athletic performance, or help with chronic health problems, please feel free to contact me.
