Holistic Fitness

Whereas the standard Western approach to health and fitness tends to focus on cardio-vascular exercise – preaching “no pain, no gain” and often pushing individuals exhausted by the stresses of contemporary living yet further into burnout – the traditional East Asian perspective emphasises health through relaxation and harmonisation, and increasing physical capacity through intelligent exercise that works with, rather than against, the natural patterns of the body.

I call this approach “Holistic Fitness”: as part of their ongoing treatment, I help clients to plan and structure their lifestyle and nutrition in line with this philosophy, including tuition in basic breathwork, stretching, exercise and relaxation. I am also available for private training sessions and workshops in various aspects of Holistic Fitness, including Natural Movement, Qi Gong, relaxation techniques and East Asian dietary theory.

If you would like to book a session or enquire about arranging a workshop, please feel free to contact me.
